Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 (Europe) or region Free DVD Player in order to play. Set of five films starring David Niven. In the historical drama, 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' (1948), Niven plays the titular pretender to the throne. The film follows his ill-fated attempt to overthrow the Hanoverians, the famous defeat at Culloden, and his subsequent escape to France aided by Flora MacDonald (Margaret Leighton). In 'The Love Lottery' (1954), Niven plays Rex Allerton, a celebrity who agrees to be the star prize in a lottery where the winner gets to spend a week in his company. Sensing the daftness of the whole enterprise, Rex promises publicly to marry the winner - and that's where besotted fan, Sally (Peggy Cummins), enters the proceedings. 'Happy Ever After' (1954) tells the tale of the caddish Jasper O'Leary (Niven), who inherits a hunting estate in Ireland following the death of his uncle. He soon arouses the ire of all the villagers, with the exception of the scheming Serena McGluskey (Yvonne De Carlo). The villagers use the occassion of 'O'Leary Night', when the ghost of the first O'Leary walks the halls, to try and create enough confusion and mayhem to send Jasper packing. 'Eternally Yours' (1939) is a comedy drama starring Loretta Young as Anita, a woman who is swept off her feet by magician Arturo (Niven). Pretty soon the two get married and Anita becomes Arturo's stage assistant on a world tour. But Anita becomes annoyed by Arturo's flirtations and his death-defying stunts give her nightmares. Finally, when she's had enough, she disappears for real. The Edinburgh Festival provides a colourful background for the lively musical comedy, 'Happy Go Lovely' (1951). When penniless dancer Janet Jones (Vera-Ellen) emerges from a limousine at the festival, she's mistaken for the girlfriend of the car's millionaire owner - when in fact, she'd only hitched a ride with the driver. Suddenly Broadway director John Frost (Cesar Romero) wants her in his next musical in order to get financing from this 'millionaire boyfriend'. Soon Janet is romanced by B.G. Bruno (Niven), the limo's real millionaire owner.
