Asics GEL-PHOENIX 8 Women's Running Shoe - AW16 The Asics GEL-PHOENIX 8 are ideal for runners who tend to overpronate or roll their feet inwards as they run. You'll get the stability you need to tackle longer distances and this technology-packed shoe really backs you up as you start to tire late into a run. Upper The Asics GEL-PHOENIX 8 women's running shoe is constructed with a mesh upper, allowing air to ventilate around the shoe to provide a cool and fresh environment for your feet. The upper is stitched around a canvas and attracted directly to the midsole which helps to provide better underfoot support while training. A EVA removable sockliner moulds to the shape of your foot, which keeps it feeling snug and it also gives you the option of being able to remove it or to accommodate a medical orthotic. Midsole The SpeVa® midsole technology is a material that improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown when running. Some of the features that provides this technology are: Better shock attenuation, improves durability. The Solyte 55 midsole technology is an even lighter midsole then SpeVa without loosing all the other properties. Some of the benefits of using this technology is that it provides more cushioning, durability, responsiveness and of course, it's lightweight. The rearfront and forefront GEL® cushioning system reduces shock during impact and toe-off phases and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. The rearfront GEL is a silicone based cushioning system which provides a lower shock when the heel impacts on the ground offering a better cushioning. The forefoot GEL cushioning is a similar technology as the rearfront which is placed in the forefoot which reduces shear forces and also helps the foot when propulsing.
