Elvis Presley: The Searcher (Original Soundtrack) is de muzikale metgezel van een tweedelige, drie uur durende HBO documentaire over het fenomeen Elvis Presley, van de hand van Emmy -en Grammy Award winnaar Thom Zimny. In de film staat de ontwikkeling van zijn vroege blues- en country roots tot aan zijn legendarische opnamesessies in de Jungle Room op Graceland in 1976 centraal.




De kern van de soundtrack bestaat uit 18 essentiële Elvis Presley hits (“Heartbreak Hotel,” “Are You Lonesome Tonight?”), krachtige vocalen (“That’s All Right,” “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” “Trouble/Guitar Man”) en zeldzame uitvoeringen van nummers die mijlpalen voor hem betekenden als artiest (“Suspicious Minds,” “Separate Ways”).

Deze 3CD Deluxe Box Set bevat naast de 18 tracks van de CD versie en de 2LP versie nog eens 37 Elvis tracks, plus een extra schijf met onder andere selecties uit de filmscore geschreven door Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, een uitvoering van “Wooden Heart” door Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers en de muziek die Elvis heeft beïnvloed, waaronder diverse R&B en country classics zoals Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup’s originele versie van “That’s All Right” en Odetta’s gospel versie van Bob Dylan’s “Tomorrow Is A Long Time”, en “Home Sweet Home” gezongen door zijn moeder Gladys Presley.
