"Mapping the Studio: Artists from the Francois Pinault Collection"-an exhibition curated by Alison Gingeras and Francesco Bonami-will open simultaneously in the newly renovated spaces of Punta della Dogana and at Palazzo Grassi. This exhibition signals the Francois Pinault Foundation's desire to develop an artistic program at the highest level and its long-lasting commitment to contemporary culture in the city of Venice. nnThis is the catalogue of the inaugural exhibition which will involve both the Punta della Dogana and Palazzo Grassi. The works are presented in a way that is in harmony with the characteristics and atmosphere of each venue: a more intimate, private view on the one hand, and a more outward-looking world view on the other. Together, the two parts of the exhibition create a dialogue between artists of different generations, offering highly different forms of expression and sensitivity. nClassic names like Penone, Cattelan and Hirst are exhibites side by side with young talent such as Urs Fischer, Piotr Uklanski and Rudolf Stingel, who are introduced in articles by Bonami and Gingeras.
