This book tells the story of the design and building of AGC's new European headquarters in Louvain-la-Neuve. Anno 2013, the AGC Glass Building is one of the largest, nearly zero-energy office buildings in Belgium and was awarded a BREAAM certification of 'excellent' during the design phase. The book wishes first and foremost to be a technical and scientific reference work. The design sketches, technical drawings, site photos and the photos taken by the Brussels photographer Marie-Françoise Plissart illustrate all the different aspects that are essential for the construction of a sustainable office building. Architect and engineer Dr. Philippe Samyn, the main designer with Bernard Van Damme and Ghislain André, has been assisted for this book by engineer-architect Jan De Coninck.
