What do you honestly think if you stand on the highest mountain, 'on top of the world'? What would you say if, at that moment, everyone in the world could hear you? That is the main question. The Dutch photographer marcellus and writer Jenneke Kunst were looking for an answer. Dozens of people of various nationalities were imaged by them in a special way. They took a step up and told their message to us, to everyone. Fifty portraits were made. The participants were portrayed with photos and texts 'on top of the world.' The readers of this book will also get to know these global citizens and they can also be inspired by the highest place on earth. At the turn of the last page they may also have figured out what they themselves would like to say 'on top' to the rest of the world. Wat denk je eigenlijk als jij op de hoogste berg der bergen staat, 'on top of the world'? Wat zou jij zeggen, als op dat moment iedereen in de hele wereld jou kon horen? Dat is de centrale vraag. De Nederlandse fotograaf marcellus en schrijfster Jenneke Kunst gingen op zoek naar een antwoord. Tientallen mensen van verschillende nationaliteiten werden door hen op bijzondere wijze in beeld gebracht. Ze deden een stapje omhoog en vertelden hun boodschap aan ons, aan iedereen. Vijftig bijzondere portretten zijn gemaakt. Met foto's en teksten zijn de geportretteerden in beeld gebracht 'on top of the world'. De lezers van dit boek zullen deze wereldburgers dan ook leren kennen en zij kunnen zich ook laten inspireren door de hoogste plek op aarde. Bij het omslaan van de laatste pagina hebben zij mogelijk ook bedacht wat zij zelf 'on top' zouden willen zeggen tegen de rest van de wereld.
