A first introduction to Supply Chain Management. The course gives a general overview, including (1) the importance of supply chain management, (2) the different parts of the chain and (3) transport. Our introductory courses are mainly based on a series of instructional films.
The first lesson provides an introduction to the meaning of the term ‘supply chain management’. We will start with a few definitions. Then we will take a look at the first of a series of videos on the topic. This film presents an example of a company that produces plastic bottles containing mineral water, and of course they ultimately want to sell these bottles. So finally the product has to be made available to the customer. It’s a very simple example… or at least it seems very simple… The aim of this first lesson is to present an overview of supply chain management.
