De TL-POE200 is ontworpen om stroom en data te leveren via een enkele ethernetkabel naar een op Ethernet aan te sluiten apparaat tot 100m afstand. De PoE kit gebruikt twee apparaten, één, de 'injector' spuit stroom en data in een enkele ethernetkabel, terwijl de ander, de 'splitter' aan de ontvangende kant geplaatst, de stroom en data split in twee kabels die door het ethernetapparaat worden verbonden. Deze voorziening maakt het voor gebruikers mogelijk om op het ethernet aansluitbare apparaten zoals toegangspunten, IP camera's of VoIP telefoons overal te plaatsen, ongeacht of er een stopcontact aanwezig is, om de beste prestaties voor de verbonden apparaten te krijgen.
